First settled in 1822, Beaverton was originally called Calder’s mills after a local miller. It was renamed Beaverton in 1835 when the post office opened. Located on the shores of lake Simcoe at the mouth of Beaver river, Beaverton is now the largest community in brock.
Beaverton has a rich history, including being home to the Strand, Canada’s oldest movie theatre, and has a vibrant community which hosts plenty of activities all year long to attract surrounding residents and tourists alike.
